Webinar Overview 
Clinical episode management takes on an even more critical role under PDGM.  This session will describe how effective clinical episode management is the foundation for improving both patient and agency outcomes as well as improving regulatory compliance. We will review tactics for management of the 30 day payment period and explain the new LUPA thresholds and show that effective clinical episode management will be key to ensure patients are receiving appropriate, cost-effective, quality care.  We will discuss strategic planning for implementation of clinical episode management best practices within the agency, and strategies to enhance communication and collaboration between all disciplines.

Speakers: Sharon Litwin is the founder and senior managing partner of 5 Star Consultants, a national consulting and coding firm specializing in homecare and hospice services since 2003. Sharon is a former ACHC and CHAP surveyor, performing Medicare deemed surveys for ten years. Sharon has been in the homecare and hospice industry for over 30 years. In her consulting firm, Sharon and her team of RNs assist home health and hospice agencies in providing quality, meeting regulations, ICD-10 coding, OASIS, increasing outcomes and Star Ratings, and having continued survey readiness. Sharon and her staff person ICD-10 coding and OASIS reviews, QAPI, clinical record review, mock surveys and help agencies across the country stay in compliance.

Convenience: Enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency of a webinar – watch the speaker’s slide presentation on the internet while listening by telephone or through your computer’s microphone and speakers (VoIP).  There is no limit to the number of attendees from your agency who may participate at your site using one phone line and a computer with internet access.  Confirmation:  Prior to the webinar, a GoToWebinar link will be e-mailed to you.  You will need to register through this link to attend the webinar. You will be sent a confirmation which will include a join link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts, if available, an evaluation and certificate. The webinar will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PST.

Registration: Registrations may not be shared between agencies – the agency’s registration covers the access of only one phone line/computer access to the webinar. Multiple site participation for your agency will require a separate registration fee for each connection. Please note: if your agency has sent in 1 registration but 3 people from your agency register through the GTW link, your agency will be invoiced for the additional 2 registrations. The handouts will be emailed to you to the email address you provide. Please feel free to provide an additional email address as a backup.
