Webinar Overview:  Internal communication is one of the biggest influences on employee engagement.

Have your whole team participate to identify intrinsic values, motivations, self-esteem, sources of dignity and worthiness, causes of stress, communication styles, listening styles, non-verbal responses, language patterns, social skills, learning styles, environmental motivators, cultural appeal, negative mental states, relationship orientation and ethical behaviors. Eric Scharber is a Principal at Simione Healthcare Consultants, leading all talent acquisition and employee retention efforts for the home care and hospice industry through Exact Recruiting, a Simione talent solution. He oversees executive search and non-executive recruiting services, as well as compensation analysis and employee satisfaction survey services. After founding Exact Recruiting in 2005, Eric led the firm to become the top recruiting and executive search entity for home-based care, serving clients across the U.S. and placing more than 1,500 professionals since inception. Eric is a frequent national speaker for Employee Retention and Recruitment, Building Culture and Leadership Development. He is a graduate of the University of Florida.

A resident of Minnesota, Laura Wilson, RN, BSN, COS-C joined the Simione team as a Senior Manager in Operations Consulting in 2018. Wilson began her career in home-based care in 1985, serving in progressively responsible clinical and regional leadership roles in the western United States, as well as Minnesota, Texas and Florida. Wilson has extensive expertise in multi-site operations, quality management, human resources, compliance and business development with a strong focus on the role of home health, hospice and palliative care to support population health in collaboration with health systems and networks. She previously worked for Kindred at Home (MN) North Memorial Health Care (MN), Intrepid USA Health Care Services (TX), Nurse On Call Home Health Care (FL), Tender Loving Care/Staff Builders (Western US), In Home Health (MN), and Health One Home Care & Hospice (now Allina – MN). She also has experience as a home health consultant and spent two years as registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo, ND, after earning her BS in nursing from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.=

Prior to the webinar, a Zoom Webinar link will be e-mailed to you. You will need to click on this link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts if available and evaluation link.

Webinar Recording: You will be sent the recording link following the presentation and it will be available for 2 weeks following the webinar. The webinar format allows a concise and low-cost format plus the additional bonus of having access to the materials for 2 weeks and provides additional flexibility to ensure you have an opportunity to access the information.

Continuing Education: Minnesota HomeCare Association is approved as a provider of Continuing Education Credits by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 3.0 contact hours. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure that this program meets the licensing and continuing education requirements of their state board and to retain the required documents in his/her personal file. Attendees must participate in the entire presentation in order for contact hours to be awarded – partial credit will not be available.  To apply for nursing contact hours, within one week following webinar participation, a completed sign-in sheet and evaluations from each individual must be returned to MHCA.  Certificates will then be issued by e-mail. 

Registration Fee: OAHC Members:  $125 per agency line; Non-Members:  $262 per agency line.  Registration fees are based on one phone/webinar connection; multiple site participation for your agency will require a separate registration fee for each connection.
