This course will be a two-hour session covering ICD-10 Coding Updates and how it affects your agency! Coding can be a challenge for clinicians, supervisors, and coders! This session is designed to help anyone interested in learning more about hospice coding updates. J’non Griffin, RN, MHA, HCS-D, HCS-H, HCS-C, HCS-O, COS-C, will discuss hospice coding updates including:

  • How documentation and CTI drives the codes
  • What needs to be coded and who's responsibility is it?
  • What part does the medical director pay in coding?
  • When coding guidance differs from "the terminal diagnosis" and who cares?
  • What does the future look like in hospice coding?

The session will be offered in a virtual environment that will make attending easy and convenient! The session will be recorded, and will be available 30 days after the live event.

J’non Griffin is a 34 year veteran of home care as an RN. She received her Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration in 2005. She has experience as a field nurse, director and executive with home health and hospice agencies, both large and small. J’non is certified as a Homecare Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D), Certified in OASIS competency, COS-C, Certified in Homecare Coding Specialist-Hospice (HCS-H), Home Care Specialist-Compliance (HCS-C) and is an AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM trainer/ambassador. J’non is an accredited ACHC and CHAP consultant. J’non is currently the Principal of the Coding and OASIS Department at SimiTree. J’non is also on the board of Home Care Association of Florida. She has also been a frequent contributor to the Decision Health Publication, The Diagnosis Coding Pro, and the Home Health Line. She has published several manuals and assisted with composition of several online modules for coding and OASIS instruction. She has presented several webinars and has been a nationally recognized speaker on a variety of subjects.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
This educational activity is eligible for 2.0 nurse contact hours. The Association for Home & Hospice Care of NC is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

CONFIRMATION
Prior to the webinar, you will receive a Zoom confirmation email which will include a join link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts if available.

Registration Fee: The registration fee covers one individual and one continuing education (CE) certificate (if applicable). Multiple site participation from individuals within your agency will require separate registration. For example: if your agency has paid for 1 participating registration but 3 people from your agency would like to attend (and receive CE credit), your agency will need to pay a separate registration fee for all 3 participants. In addition, if your agency has sent in 1 registration but 3 people from your agency register through the Zoom link, your agency will be invoiced the registration fee for the additional 2 registrations. The handouts will be emailed to you to the email address you provide.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy: Fees will be refunded, or invoices will be adjusted, only if written notice of cancellation is received by OAHC one week prior to the event.

Recording: The recording for this webinar will be made available for 30 days following the webinar.
